Frequently asked questions

Do we have to wash the glasses before returning?

Yes, please wash all glasses, crockery and cutlery before returning to us. We sterilize everything when it is returned however our machine doesn't handle food. Any additional cleaning needed will be invoiced to cover this.

Can we collect our own marquee to keep costs down?

Unfortunately, all our large marquees need to be delivered and come with a supervisor. We have a selection of DIY marquees which can be collected to keep costs down.

What happens if we break something?

We understand that accidents happen. The cost of the breakage will be taken from your $100 bond which you pay before you collect/have items delivered. If the breakage exceeds $100 the extra will be invoiced to you.

Do we have to clean the toilets before we return them?

No cleaning required, just hook them up and return to us and we have someone come and clean them ready for the next customer.

What is the best way to clean a spit before returning?

Hot soapy water and a scrubbing brush. If you are lucky enough to own a steam cleaner this will also help fetch of all the excess fat.

Where do we collect our items from?

Event Hire CHB is located at the back of our property and has its own driveway. Go PAST 385 Plantation Road and you will see our business sign at the end of the next driveway. Then head up to The Wool Shed.

Can we come view Hire Items?

Viewing are more than welcome just email us at info@eventhirechb.co.nz to make appointment prior. Just be aware there is no shop or show room as such. We are a small rural business operating from our Wool Shed.

Do I need a trailer to collect a spit or mine roaster?

A trailer is advisable or a flat bed ute. The spit is nearly 2m long so will not fit in a regular Ute with the back closed.
